Here is an update from Fontana AT trailhead. The deep snow is now gone. All the blowdowns have been cleared and the rattlers are out sunning themselves in the warm weather. This is a photo of one of the residents .3 miles from Fontana trailhead.
Next we'll pay the price for all this sunny weather with a week of rain predicted. The hikers count seems to be down this year, probably due to the deep snows. We had nearly 2 feet at Mollies Ridge on March 6.
