We enjoyed visiting this area together and we also took a short walk around one of the beautiful lakes.
Devils Postpile National Mounment
Columnar Basalt formation: a result of a volcanic event . As the lava cooled it contracted and cracked, forming the columns of Devils Postpile

Such beauty that graces our land
Cathedral Peaks Yosemite NP
We had the best view of this marvel from the trail. Visitors to the park see the beauty but not like you can see it hiking in between the granite boulders.
Flora & Fauna
I enjoy seeing the wildflowers and the majestic trees just as much as the endless spance of valleys from the tops of mountain peaks.

Looks an awful lot to me like Thousand Island Lake on the JMT (John Muir Trail). I love that place.
